KENYA – Jubilee Allianz General Insurance Limited Kenya, has appointed Adja Samb as the new Chief Executive Officer, effective July 1, 2021.
Adja Samb will succeed Catherine Igathe, the current CEO of Jubilee Allianz General Insurance Limited Kenya, who is exiting the firm in July 2021 to pursue other opportunities.
In early 2021, Allianz SE and Jubilee Holdings announced a 66% stake acquisition in the Jubilee General Insurance Company in Kenya to form Jubilee Allianz.
Other acquisitions of Jubilee General Insurance businesses in Tanzania, Uganda, Burundi, and Mauritius are expected to follow.
Adja Samb has been the CEO of Allianz Senegal Assurances and had previously driven the acquisition and integration of an insurance company in Morocco into Allianz Group some five years ago.
As CEO of Allianz Senegal since 2019, Adja is credited with putting in place a result-driven firm using several management tools.
According to Coenraad Vrolijk, Regional CEO of Allianz Africa, Adja is best suited to integrate and transform the new business in Kenya, using her extensive experience in the insurance industry.

As CEO of Allianz Senegal since 2019, she has led cultural changes by putting in place a results-driven organization with key performance and productivity measurement tools.
Adja has held key executive positions within the insurance industry in Europe and Africa.

Her extensive experience in the insurance industry, in business transformation and in Africa will serve Jubilee Allianz well”, said Coenraad Vrolijk, Regional CEO of Allianz Africa.
At the same time, Demba Sy joins the Board of Directors of Jubilee Allianz General Insurance Limited, Kenya, while remaining the CEO of Allianz Insurance Company of Kenya Limited until the portfolio of the company is successfully transferred into Jubilee Allianz General Insurance Limited, Kenya.
His leadership role thereafter will be announced in due course.
Philip Kimani, the current CFO of Jubilee Allianz General Insurance Limited, Kenya, will be leaving the company end of May 2021 after three years of service to pursue other opportunities.
He will be succeeded by Isaac Adomako who prior to his nomination, held key positions in Allianz Ghana for 9 years, first as Head of Audit then as Finance and Administration Director.
